Up-cycling!

En faisant un peu le tri dans mes affaires, j´ai retrouvé 2 t-shirts que je ne mettais plus parce que rétrécis et déformés. Vous aussi vous connaissez les t-shirts qui “tournent”? Quand la couture n´est plus vraiment sur les côtés… Haha! oui, vous connaissez 😉

Et bien cette fois-ci je me suis dit qu´au lieu de les mettre dans le container à vêtements, j´allais les up-cycler pour en faire un nouveau t-shirt pour ma fille!Comme ma fille est grande (mon dieu que ca passe vite 😨) et que je lui couds des vêtements en 146cm, il me fallait un patron manches standards (et non raglan) afin de conserver le col du t-shirt Flamingo. J´ai choisi la modèle Sporty Look du magazine Ottobre 1/2014.

Le col initial était en V mais pourquoi s´embêter à refaire un col quand on en a déjà un tout fait?!

Ma fille a choisi les points de déco pour les manches et a même participé à la couture!

Bon, rien de bien extraordinaire comme up-cycling mais c´est la démarche qui me plait. 🙂

Et parce que mon fils veut toujours faire lui aussi de la couture mais maman coud, il a eu droit à son petit atelier marquage/découpe/repassage (le fer était froid je vous rassure 😜)

By sorting my stuff a bit, I found 2 t-shirts that I didn’t put on anymore because they were shrunk and distorted. Do you also know the t-shirts that “spin”? When the seam is no longer really on the sides … Haha! yes, you know 😉

Well this time I said to myself that instead of putting them in the clothes container, I was going to up-cycle them to make a new t-shirt for my daughter! As my daughter is tall (my god that it goes quickly 😨) and that I sew clothes in 146cm, I needed a standard sleeve pattern (not raglan) to keep the collar of the Flamingo t-shirt. I chose the Sporty Look model from Ottobre magazine 1/2014.

The initial collar was in V but why bother to redo a collar when you have already done it all ?!

My daughter chose the decorative points for the sleeves and even participated in the sewing!

Well, nothing extraordinary like up-cycling but it is the approach that I like. 🙂

And because my son still wants to do sewing too, but mom sews, he had the right to his small marking/cutting/ironing workshop (the iron was cold, I can assure you 😜)
